CORDOVA GOLF COURSE
CORDOVA GOLF COURSE (“Course”) welcomes golfers of all skill levels and abilities. Volunteer Marshals and staff members patrol the Course to ensure all players have an equal opportunity to enjoy their round. Please remember to follow all Course rules and guidelines. If you have questions or need assistance, at any time, please contact a Marshal or staff member. If you have trouble locating someone, please call the Pro Shop at 916-362-1196, option 2 for assistance. All golfers are expected to know and follow Course rules of play and adhere to standard golf etiquette.
GENERAL RULES & GOLF ETIQUETTE:
- Every player must use their own set of clubs. Rental clubs are available in Pro Shop
- Golf appropriate attire is always required. Shirt and shoes must be worn at all times
- Only licensed drivers may operate power golf carts. No more than two (2) guests and two (2) golf bags per cart
- At all times, golf carts must remain thirty (30) feet from greens
- Replace all divots, repair ball marks and rake sand traps
- Guests are liable for all property damage caused by their swing, shot, golf ball and golf carts
- Immediately notify Marshal and/or Pro Shop staff of all issues and incidents, involving (but not limited to):
- Inappropriate or threatening behavior
- Damage to Property
- Golf cart problems
- Limit amount of time you search for lost golf balls. Those having trouble locating a ball must let the group behind them play through, or drop and hit another ball. You should not look for a ball more than two (2) minutes
- When you finish a hole, leave the putting green immediately and continue to the next hole
- Keep pace with the group in front of you. Novice golfers should pick-up their ball to ensure a swift pace
- If a group behind you is consistently waiting on you or your group, allow them to play through
- Forego “Honors,” and allow short tee golfers to hit first
- Short hitters should proceed with their second (and third) shots if a longer hitter must wait for the green or fairway to clear
- When others are hitting: move your ball, calculate your yardage and select your club in preparation to hit immediately following others
- Line up your putt while others are putting
- Play “ready-golf,” – be prepared to take your shot immediately following the person in front of you
RULES OF PLAY:
- United States Golf Association (USGA) Rules govern all play.
- “Out of Bounds.” is defined by perimeter fences, white stakes and areas marked, “OB” (Out of Bounds)
- Relief from staked trees, pumps and protection barriers: Holes 1, 2, 8, 9, 10, 14 and 17
- All ponds are lateral water hazards
- Yardage markers
- White Stakes – 100 yards
- Red Stakes – 150 yards
PROHIBITED AT CORDOVA GOLF COURSE:
- Physical abuse of golf carts, equipment and Course property
- Outside alcoholic beverages
- Beer and food items may be purchased at the golf course restaurant and consumed on the premises
- Ice chests
- Glass containers
- Unsupervised children
- Fishing in course ponds
- Digging in course fairways and greens
- Climbing trees
- Gas/propane powered heaters, fires and grills
- Vulgar or offensive language
- Hitting into other golfers
- Throwing clubs
- Hitting balls over the driving range protective netting (readjust club selection and aim)
- Hitting non-approved golf balls on driving range
- Only limited flight golf balls, purchased inside the Pro Shop and dispensed from the ball machine may be used on the driving range
Please ensure you and your group play ready-golf. Naturally, everyone wants to play well, taking a reasonable amount of time for each swing and putt. However, taking too much time can result in slow play and Course delays.
Cordova Golf Course should be played in under four (4) hours for 18 Holes and two (2) hours for 9 Holes.
Extenuating circumstances dictate additional rules, which may apply on any given day (e.g. in case of inclement weather, golf carts may be restricted to cart path only or not available; grass area of driving range may be closed). Please follow Course signage and listen carefully to staff guidelines.
Players who fail to follow Cordova Golf Course Rules will be asked to correct their behavior. Failure to comply may result in a guest(s) being asked to leave the premises.
